Yountville, California

Yountville is a city in Napa County, and it’s located in the heart of California’s Wine Country. Yountville has a long-stranding food and wine scene with a rich wine-making history. The town was officially settled in 1867, but the first vineyard was planted 30 years earlier in 1836. It took George Calvert Yount eight years to produce the first wine vintage, and it was a sensation. In 1973, Domaine Chandon started making Champagne and wines in the area. By the mid-80s, the town had become an established food and wine destination.

Yountville’s name is derived from the name of early pioneer George Calvert Yount. Yount was credited with planting the first vineyard in Napa Valley.
