Westchester County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. It was named after the city of Chester in England, and the county seat is White Plains. One of the region’s well-known private jet airports is Westchester-White Plains, HPN.
For visitors looking for a bit of culture, Westchester County is home to several attractions. Visitors can explore the historical sites that date back to the 18th century. Take a day trip to the Untermyer Park and Gardens for those looking to see what’s happening. It’s 43 acres of historic gardens created by Samuel Untermyer in 1899. The park was open to the public in 1916. After Untermyer’s death, the City of Yonkers purchased the property. Today, the grounds remain for the enjoyment of the people.
The county’s location puts New York City and Long Island Sound to its south, Putnam County on the north, Connecticut on the east, Rockland County on the west.
