Miami Springs is a suburban Miami city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The town was founded by Glenn Hammond Curtiss, “The Father of Naval Aviation,” and James Bright, during the famous “land boom” of the 1920s. Miami Springs was first called the Country Club Estates. Along with other Miami suburbs such as Coral Gables, Florida, and Opa-locka, they were the first planned communities in Florida.
