Mexico City International Airport, or Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez, is a major airport serving the greater Mexico City area. It serves the city along with Toluca Airport and Felipe Angeles International Airport, open since 2022. It is a hub for domestic and international flights and is the third-busiest airport in Mexico.
The airport is located approximately 10 km (6 miles) east of the center of Mexico City. The airport offers several rental car agencies on the ground floor and has three parking lots. Taxis run about 20 minutes into town, but passengers should pay attention to distances and times before hopping in. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the airport and multiple art exhibits. Other airport features include modern business centers, 24-hour customer service, and customs and immigration services. The Mexico City International Airport is the largest in Latin America.
Mexico City International Airport or the (Benito Juárez International Airport) (IATA: MEX, ICAO: MMMX) is the commercial international airport for Mexico City. The busiest airport in Mexico and Latin America by passenger traffic and aircraft operations, on a typical day there are more than a hundred thousand passengers in transit. While MEX will remain the primary entry point for the city, the new airport, NLU will be a convenient alternative airport for travelers. Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU) is expected to receive 20 million passengers annually in its first operational phase.
The Mexico City International Airport had a long history of servicing private aircraft. In addition to updated terminals and lounges, it also offered fueling, cabin cleaning, and repair services. As the two runways at MMMX operate at more than 97% capacity private planes are mandated to use alternate nearby airports. Those are the Adolfo López Mateos International Airport in Toluca, General Mariano Matamoros Airport in Cuernavaca, and Hermanos Serdán International Airport in Puebla.
