Manhattan is the smallest and most densely populated borough of New York City. The island of Manhattan, which is bounded by the Hudson, East, and Harlem Rivers, is the United States’ most populous island. The famous Empire State Building and the neon-lit Times Square are in Manhattan, as are many theaters and museums.
The most populous borough is the historical and economic center of the city and includes several small adjacent islands like Marble Hill. The Financial District and Wall Street are found in Lower Manhattan, and The City Hall is one of the world’s largest. Millennium Tower and the Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center provide a bird’s eye view of the city. The energy-intensive city is a tourist’s paradise, and there are plenty of options for lodging in and around Manhattan.
