Manassas Regional Airport, also known as Harry P. Davis Field, is the largest regional airport in Virginia and a key general aviation hub for the Washington, D.C. metro area. Managed by the Manassas Regional Airport Authority, it serves as a vital economic engine and private aviation gateway for Northern Virginia.
Initially opened in 1932, Manassas Regional Airport (HEF) has grown into one of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s busiest and most advanced general aviation airports. With more than 85,000 annual aircraft operations, HEF is home to over two dozen aviation businesses, including flight schools, maintenance providers, avionics shops, and charter operators.
The airport features two runways and provides a full range of aviation services:
The main runway, 16L/34R, measures 6,002 feet and supports a wide variety of aircraft, including midsize and super midsize jets. The secondary runway, 16R/34L, is 3,693 feet long and used primarily by light aircraft and flight schools. The longer runway enables operations in poor weather and helps reduce congestion at nearby commercial airports, such as Dulles (IAD) and Reagan National (DCA).
HEF also meets FAA Part 135 landing requirements and offers on-request U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) clearance for international arrivals.
Two full-service Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) support private jet operations with VIP amenities, ground handling, fueling, hangars, and U.S. Customs coordination:
FBO and customs services are available by appointment only and follow the airport’s hours of operation (6:30 AM – 10:30 PM).
Other nearby airports offering charter and commercial services include:
Manassas Regional Airport offers easy access to key private jet destinations across the U.S. Common routes include:
• Teterboro Airport – the go-to private terminal for NYC (TEB)
• Boston Logan or Hanscom Field (BOS, BED)
• Opa-Locka Executive or Miami International (OPF, MIA)
• DeKalb–Peachtree or Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta (PDK, ATL)
