An international airport is an airport that can accommodate international flights and aircraft. Customs and immigration facilities are typically found on-site to assist with processing both passengers and cargo. Large commercial and smaller general aviation airports share these capacities and may include Landing Rights designations.
Such airports are usually more extensive and often feature longer runways and facilities to accommodate large aircraft. Long-range and ultra-long-range jet charters are regularly used for international and intercontinental travel.
International airports also host in-country domestic flights (flights that occur within the country) to serve travelers of the internal regions of their respective countries.
