The Hayward Executive Airport is a municipal airport located in Hayward, California. It is classified as a reliever airport in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. The airport is near the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay. It was formerly known as Hayward Air Terminal. It serves the city of Hayward and is home to two asphalt runways and a helipad. The airport has more than 8,000 landings annually and a five-story control tower.
The airport has recently undergone significant renovations. It has added new hangars, the runways have also been repaved, and a city tie-down ramp was built recently. There are also several excellent restaurants, hotels, and a former golf course at the runway’s end.
Hayward Executive Airport is located south of Oakland in Hayward, California. Designated as a regional reliever facility by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), there is an FAA Control Tower and a runway of more than 5,000 feet. Hayward Executive is an executive airfield with 98% general aviation traffic and a less crowded choice than nearby commercial airports. Oakland International Airport is about 9 miles north, and the San Jose International Airport (SJC) is approximately 26 miles south of HWD.
