Eagle County has only one runway, numbered 07/25, which is 9,000 feet long and 150 feet wide. Originally built as an emergency landing strip in the 1930s by the Civil Aeronautics Authority, the runway underwent an extension project worth 40 million dollars in 2009, which increased its length to the current 9,000 feet.
