About Drake Field Airport

The City of Fayetteville owns and operates Drake Field Airport, established in 1929. Dr. Noah Drake, a Professor at the University of Arkansas, donated money to purchase land to build an airport. In 1936, Fayetteville residents contributed to buying land south of the original ground where the current airport stands. The airport was named in honor of Dr. Noah Drake.

Drake Field Airport serves a range of general aviation aircraft, including business charter, military training, and recreational flying. The airport has an Air Traffic Controller operational from 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily.
