Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport is located in downtown Kansas City across the Missouri River from the city center. Dedicated and opened in 1927 by Charles Lindberg, this is Kansas City’s primary airport for private jets and general aviation. The Kansas City Chiefs home stadium is located 11 miles southeast of the Downtown Airport.
