Centennial is one of the busiest airports in the United States for private jet travel, and in 2018 saw more than 42,000 aircraft movements. The Arapahoe County Airport Authority owns this public facility. Just minutes from downtown Denver, the airport businesses employ 7,000 full and part-time workers. History
Opened in 1968 as the Arapahoe County Airport , the facility was renamed on July 13, 1984. The new name celebrates Colorado’s place as the 38th of the United States and the Centennial of the Declaration of Independence.
The airport is situated in the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area and is 17 miles southeast of downtown Denver. Located in Dove Valley, it’s 15 miles southwest of downtown Aurora in the city of Englewood.
This international airport has three runways and one helipad. Four fixed base operators (FBO) offer services 24 hours a day; additionally, there is a separate heliport terminal on-site. Amenities include rental car and ground transportation services, private passenger terminals, aircraft fueling, hangar space and deicing, and private jet services.
