The U.S. and European Commission last week signed an aviation safety agreement, effective May 1, that will streamline transatlantic regulatory cooperation on certification, continued airworthiness and maintenance. According to GAMA, the new agreement creates a “one-stop shop” by reducing redundant certification activities through validation and acceptance of design approvals and repairs between all 27 European Union member states and the U.S.
