Customers of a business aviation conference organiser are desperately trying to contact the company to find out what is happening after a pair of events were cancelled, one at extremely short notice.
However, despite repeated attempts, no-one from Chichester, UK-based MIU Events has been in touch to explain whether the conferences will be rescheduled or if sponsors and attendees will be refunded money they have already paid.
The crisis in Ukraine “undermined” business aircraft flying in Europe last month, with European flights to the CIS down 24 percent and East-West European connections down by 15 percent, according to the latest data from business aviation research and consulting firm WingX Advance. Overall, there were 68,048 business aviation flight departures in Europe last month, a 2.7-percent year-over-year decline, with July 11 percent below its 2008 peak and the least active July on record since 2005. Year to date, activity in the region is 0.7 percent below the 2013 trend.
NBAA2014 organizers say the event is once again shaping up to a success for all participants. JetOptions Private Jets will have several sales team members, including Sales Director Gus Lira, attending NBAA2014 in Orlando, Florida.
As of mid-August, there were 827 exhibitors registered to participate, up 1.2 percent from this point last year, noted Maureen Cameron, director, exhibit sales, service & operations. More than 1,000 vendors, taking up more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space, are expected to showcase their latest products and services when NBAA2014 opens Oct. 21 in Orlando, FL at the Orange County Convention Center.
Textron Aviation is now offering the ProAdvantage product support program for Beechcraft King Airs, the company announced yesterday at LABACE 2014. ProAdvantage, previously available only for Cessna Citation customers, offers programs that provide life-cycle maintenance and parts support for airframes and avionics, engines and auxiliary power units.
