Looking closer at 2011 summer demand, it is interesting to note the top destinations contributing to the seasonal surge in charter travel. For trips from European departure airports we can see that beach or resort destinations within Europe are dominating the top ten most popular destinations list, with Cote D’Azur topping the list and airports like Olbia Costa Smeralda, Ibiza, Cannes, and Malaga moving into the stats for the period from June 15th to August 15th.
In the U.S. we see slightly different trend, with the top ten list scattered between a number of different kinds of destinations. Topping the list in the U.S. is McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas, followed by Teterboro in New Jersey, and Luton in London England. The list is rounded out by, primarily, Southern and Western U.S. destinations making it appear to be a mixture of business and pleasure travel.
