With less than 30 days until the 2011 NBAA Convention takes place in Las Vegas, NBAA announced yesterday an “outstanding” lineup of featured speakers at the opening general session at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 10. This list includes Sen. Joseph Manchin III (D-W.Va.); FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt; NTSB chairwoman Deborah Hersman; John Deere Agricultural and Turf division president Dave Everitt; and doctor, pilot and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee. “NBAA is proud to host such an exemplary group of leaders from the public and private sectors, who are not only outstanding in their respective fields, but also in their understanding of the many contributions business aviation has made and continues to make every day to citizens, companies and communities,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. NBAA 2011 will feature exhibits at the Las Vegas Convention Center, two outdoor aircraft static displays and more than 100 education sessions. NBAA is also reminding pilots operating Rnav-equipped aircraft to or from Las Vegas Henderson Executive Airport to file for the new Rnav Stars/Sids. “This will become especially important in the next several weeks leading up to and during NBAA 2011,” said NBAA’s GA Desk. “Filing non-Rnav routings might result in delays and reroutes.” JetOptions Vice President Gus Lira will be attending the convention.
