In a story by Magnus Henriksson, the author clearly shows that charter demand spikes by using the Champions League Final on Saturday and the Formula One Grand Prix racing through Monaco on Sunday as examples. Two of the biggest sporting events in Europe took place this weekend dominating the charter demand indexes across the continent. With the Champions League Final on Saturday and the Formula One Grand Prix racing through Monaco on Sunday, it’s no surprise that charter demand in the last weekend of May trended very clearly towards these two locations.
Demand statistics for arrivals into London area airports show a clear spike during the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday prior to the Champions League Final with demand for arrivals disappearing on Sunday once the event ended.
