The Honda Jet HA-420 is a spacious very light business jet that can comfortably seat five passengers. It is powered by two GE Honda Aero Engines HF120 turbofan engines, with a maximum cruise speed of 422 knots and a range of 1,065 nautical miles (operating under NBAA IFR conditions). Founded in 2006, Honda Aircraft Company is headquartered in the U.S. After a six-year development period, the first production of HA-420 jets began in 2012. FAA certifications followed soon, with Turbofan powerplant approvals in 2013 and production model flights in 2014. The aircraft were flight certified, and the first customer deliveries took place at the end of 2015.
The HondaJet HA-420 has an impressive range, with the ability to travel from New York to Houston in just three and a half hours. It offers excellent performance and can be flown with one or two pilots. The maximum cruising speed is 420 knots (483 mph), with a maximum IFR flight range of 1,180 nautical miles and a standard range of 792 nm. The interior cabin measures 4’8” in height, 5’ in width, and 17’8” in length. The Honda jet can reach an altitude of 43,000 feet and take off from runways of fewer than 4,000 feet. It can also land on runways of less than 3,000 feet.
The HondaJet HA-420 has a modern design, with wings made from lightweight composite materials and a sleek fuselage constructed from a carbon composite/honeycomb sandwich. Its flight deck includes a Garmin touchscreen-capable avionics suite, displaying flight data and systems performance on three 14-inch displays and two touch screens.
