City of Addison Airport

Owned by the City of Addison, Addison Airport is open to the public and services nearly 165,000 private and general aviation operations each year.

History

Addison Airport was opened in 1957 after a group of local aviation supporters felt the north of Dallas would benefit from the facility due to its continued expansion. Built using private funds, the airport was constructed on a 400-acre site with two runways – one made of aggregate and the other from asphalt. The crosswind runway closed later on to make room for further hangars to the north of the airport.

The airport was then purchased by the City in 1976 and has since become the country’s third-largest general aviation airport. The daily maintenance and operation of the terminal are funded by Addison Airport of Texas, Inc. Supported by the corporation and fuel flowage fees, the airport delivers an estimated $220 million to the local economy.

Addison Airport Location

Conveniently located to the north of Dallas, Addison Airport is near the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is within twenty minutes of the area’s four largest business centers. Those are the Richardson Telecom Corridor (12 miles east), Las Colinas/Irving (13 miles east), Legacy/Plano/Frisco (9 miles north), and Downtown Dallas (14 miles south).

Addison Private Jet Charter Facilities

Addison Airport boasts an FAA control tower, hangar and plane refueling services, a 24-hour customs service, and car and ground transportation. Travelers will also find upmarket shops, restaurants, and hotels located nearby. Furthermore, with there being no commercial flights available at this airport, private jets aren’t likely to face any disruptions or delays that can arise when sharing a runway with other airlines.
