China and Canada Complete Certification of the Gulfstream G280

Gulfstream G280 certified

Aviation authorities in China and Canada have completed type certification for Gulfstream’s new G280. The U.S. manufacturer confirmed the approvals late last week and the new super-midsize model now meets all airworthiness and environmental requirements in the two countries. The steps clear the way for customers to place G280s on the national registers of China or Canada for the first time. The aircraft has previously been certified in the U.S. and Israel, as well as having been approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency. It entered service on November 13 last year. “The G280’s range, technology, fuel efficiency, and comfort make it a popular aircraft in China and Canada,” said Scott Neal, Gulfstream’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Receiving certification approval for the aircraft in both countries will make it an even more appealing choice for customers in those regions.” With a range of 3,600 nm at Mach 0.80, the G280 can connect Shanghai and Singapore, Beijing and Mumbai, Montreal and London and Calgary and Miami. Its balanced field length allows it to take off from 4,750-foot runways.
