Indoor Aircraft Static Display at NBAA2014, Brazilian General Aviation By The Numbers, BALA conference

ABAG, the Brazilian general aviation association, has just published its influential annual yearbook, which compiles a wide range of economic and operational data about business and general aviation activities in the country. Now in its fourth edition, the ABAG Yearbook is a trusted reference for a wide range of parties, including Brazil’s air force-run air traffic control organization, and ANAC, the national civil aviation agency.

The sixth annual Business Aviation in Latin America (BALA) conference will be held here at the LABACE show site at São Paolo’s Congonhas Airport on Wednesday morning, August 13. LABACE delegates can attend for free and are encouraged to register in advance.

Building on a successful introduction last year in Las Vegas, the 2014 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2014) in Orlando, FL will feature an indoor static display of light, fixed-wing business aircraft , and helicopters, in addition to the expansive outdoor static aircraft display that is a hallmark of NBAA’s annual convention.

Approximately 12 to 15 light aircraft will be on static display in North Exhibit Hall B of the Orange County Convention Center throughout NBAA2014, which will take place from Oct. 21 to 23.

The LABACE show’s 11th edition opens today with the mood of Brazilian business and general aviation cautiously optimistic. “Once more in 2013, the market grew by 5 to 6 percent, as it has for the last decade,” Eduardo Marson, president of industry group ABAG told a press conference here in São Paulo on Friday.

There are signs, however, that the current year has been a difficult one for general aviation, as a reflection of economic upheaval across Latin America and, specifically, the restrictions placed on operators during the soccer World Cup hosted by Brazil in June and July. A fuller picture of the state of Brazilian business aviation is provided by the fourth annual yearbook published by ABAG this week.
