Embraer

Embraer Business Jets

Embraer is a global leader in aerospace innovation, producing a full range of business jets that combine modern technology with luxurious design. Headquartered in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil, Embraer manufactures aircraft for the executive, military, and agricultural sectors, as well as providing aviation services and support. Its executive jet division offers some of the most popular models for private charter clients worldwide.

Legacy and Praetor Heavy Jets from Embraer

The Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 are advanced super-midsize jets, offering exceptional speed, comfort, and technology. These aircraft are equipped with complete fly-by-wire systems, the lowest cabin altitude in their class, and Ka-band high-speed internet for seamless connectivity in the sky. Known for their short runway performance, the Legacy series blends midsize efficiency with wide-cabin comfort.

The Legacy 600 was Embraer’s first long-range business jet, certified in 2002. It accommodates up to 13 passengers and includes a full galley, lavatory, and separate cabin zones, making it ideal for transcontinental flights. The upgraded Legacy line paved the way for the next-generation Praetor jets, including the Praetor 500 and 600 models—both of which offer increased range and enhanced cabin features for VIP travel.

Light and Entry-Level Embraer Jets

Embraer has made a significant impact in the light and entry-level jet segments with the Phenom series. These jets offer outstanding performance, efficiency, and cabin comfort in smaller formats:

  • Phenom 100: A very light jet perfect for short-range business or leisure trips. It offers seating for four passengers and advanced avionics, making it a top choice in the entry-level jet category.
  • Phenom 300: One of the world’s best-selling light jets. It seats up to seven passengers, has a range of over 2,000 nautical miles, and features a spacious cabin and modern flight deck.

These light jets are ideal for efficient travel on regional routes or quick hops between cities. As of 2022, over 1,500 Phenom aircraft were in operation worldwide.

Global Manufacturing & U.S. Production Facilities

Embraer’s primary operations are in Brazil, but the company has expanded internationally, including facilities in the United States and Europe. The Phenom 100, Phenom 300, Legacy 450, and Legacy 500 are manufactured at Embraer’s Melbourne, Florida, facility. A nearby plant in Jacksonville, Florida, supports light jet manufacturing and final assembly, enhancing the brand’s presence in North America.

Company History and Evolution

Founded in 1969 as a state-run enterprise, Embraer was privatized in 1994 and transitioned into a global aerospace company. While the Brazilian government retained golden shares to protect strategic interests, the company expanded into international markets and secured numerous defense and commercial contracts. Its executive aviation division remains one of the fastest-growing segments in business aviation.

In addition to its successful business jet models, Embraer produces military aircraft, such as the C-390 freighter, and commercial jets, including the E-Jet and E-Jet E2 series. Although smaller than some competitors, the company’s innovation in cabin comfort and fuel efficiency enables it to compete in both the regional airline and executive travel sectors. The flagship VIP offering, the Lineage 1000, is a large-cabin luxury jet derived from the E190 airliner and tailored for ultra-long-range private missions.
